I am a qualified and accredited Cognitive Behavioural Counsellor (CBT) with seventeen years experience of delivering a high standard of care to clients.
CBT is a short term solution focused counselling approach that centres on the principle that our emotional disturbances and problematic behaviours are caused by unhelpful self defeating thought processes. The aim of CBT is to uncover and re-structure ingrained unhealthy thinking to relieve emotional distress and bring problematic behaviours under control.
Although I am a specialist Cognitive Behavioural practitioner I recognise that the needs of my clients are paramount and any therapeutic work undertaken should be dynamic, and bespoke rather than limited to one philosophy. Having developed a wider knowledge of other counselling approaches over the years I often work eclectically, bringing some of these therapeutic styles into my practice as a means to enrich client experience.
I am an accredited member of the (BACP) British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (the UK’s largest ethical counselling body) and uphold the values and principles outlined in their Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.

Currently, I work closely with Breast Cancer Haven at a national level and offering specialist online counselling to their service users. I also facilitate some of their support groups for young women and also women with secondary diagnosis. In addition, I work with Victim Support Homicide Service to support families of murder victims. I am also a registered Counselling Psychotherapist for West Midlands Police.
I am committed to offering a safe, confidential and nurturing environment where I can work collaboratively with clients to explore the source of their difficulties and find a way forward towards a renewed wellbeing. This can be undertaken flexibly in terms of daytime, evening or weekend appointments, through individual face to face counselling from premises in Coventry, Warwickshire and Solihull (Coronavirus restrictions permitting). Alternatively, I can offer a telephone counselling or online service throughout the UK if travelling is problematic or health issues inhibit access.
